Does anyone know what email / letter(s) one should get when the GC is approved ?
I received this email two days ago:
On November 13, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business hours.
Does this constitute as a GC approval ?
I read in other threads that a "card ordered" email follows the GC approval but I haven't received the email (nor the physical card yet).
Does it normally take 1 or more weeks for the physical card to arrive after approval ?

Hi,
In anticipation of birth certificate RFE, i have BC affidavits (from parents and relatives) and NAC ready to submit it will be requested. However, my priority date is not current and god knows, when it will be current.....My question is: Is there a validity period for these BC affidavits and NAC documents? It is almost one year since these documents are made ready and I was wondering if these documents lose their validity one year after the signed date on them?

I don't think there is a validity period for affidavits. But just make sure your parents affidavit is attested by a notary. I had a problem with the original birth certificate and I submitted a notarized statement from parents as an addendum when filing my 485 in June 2007. I had the notarized affidavit from early 2006. it is my understanding that she just needs your H1 approval notice, employment letter, your pay stubs etc. I don't think she even needs her H4 approval notice for her H4 stamping. I am very sure that only your H1 related documents are needed(she needs your original H1 approval)-please check with your lawyer

I think the System.Windows.Forms is only for Windows Forms not Web Forms. You want something like

I got busted going twice the speed limit in a 55 MPH zone and just got convicted of Reckless Driving.I got 364 Days Suspended Sentence.
Does that count as an "crime of Moral Turpitude". Does that mean that I-485 will be deined?
Do you know anyone who was convicted of reckless driving and got their green card?

There is a change of status form available on USCIS website. It is called I-539:

Go through the instructions of this form. I followed the instructions in this form and sent every document they asked for. My wife also changed her status from F1 to H4. After you send everything, you will get a receipt in 2-3 weeks and approval notice will take ~3 months.

Had a quick question. Not sure if this has been discussed before. Planning to get wife here on H4 and she wants to study. I have applied for 485 and in retro now. Is it advisable to study on H4 or F1? I know she can work on F1 but would that not be advisable since lets say the VB does become current in future for me then filing her 485 might be a problem since F1 is pure non immigrant and USCIS might hold it againt her. Any info/simlar situations greatly appreciated.

Hi JSaradhi,
When you got your renewal for your H1b till 2008, you should have also received a new I-94 card with a new validity on it, probably till 2008. I know this because I also recently got my H1b renewed.
Check with your employer. They should have handed over the new I-94 to you.

The pamphlet covers the visa process, important documents, workplace and employee rights, human trafficking, and how to file a complaint. This is a very useful document, not just for immigrants. It will be subjective of the examining officer...he could choose to deny the 140, issue an RFE or may even just ignore it...

Under the new law, lobbyists are prohibited from providing gifts, food, beverage and travel to Members of Congress, their staff or employees. A violation of this law could result in civil fines and/or criminal prosecution for the Company and individuals involved.

Hello, I am on the same boat... kinda...
I submitted the application with supporting doc paper base on June 2 and they receieved and signed the package on June 7 to NSC
Til today check was not cashed. I called the service center and the lady told me to wait til July 8 to call them again and they will look in to it... and she said since it's summer time NSC is backing up.... and it does take up to 30 days to get anything.
(However, I have been reading... ppl efile seem have better luck to get any movement... some ppl got the EAD card within 20 days!!!!!)
I read some ppl also did paper and after a month... they go for the efile... but I still did not hear if that would creat any problems...
I don't mind to waste the 340 if it can make my EAD processed....
I would rather have the card in my hand then check my checking account everyday to see if the check was cashed....
anyone did both paper and efile after one another and got approved????
anything helps!
